Raphael began his career in the Quick Service Restaurant industry in 1985 as a Management Trainee in KFC, after which he worked at various capacities in McDonald’s and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. He had also spent some years in senior management capacities working closely with the business owners of local start-up chain restaurants to grow their market share.
He joined SUBWAY® in 2004 in Singapore when the brand was 8 years in the market with 11 franchisees operating 23 restaurants. Today, there are 129 restaurants operated by 45 franchisees and can still grow at a rate 5 restaurants a year.
In 2019, Raphael and his partners were entrusted by SUBWAY® to be Business Developers to develop the territory of East Malaysia. Today it has 16 restaurants operated by 8 franchisees.
